River Road Update

October 15th, 2021

River Road Update 10/15/21: River Road is now open.
The repair project was completed earlier than expected and no closures or detours remain. We would again like to thank PennDOT for working with the Township to complete the work ahead of schedule.

River Road Update 10/7/21: We are happy to report that through a coordinated effort between the Township and PennDOT, work on the bridge by Lookout Park has begun. PennDOT is working “to stabilize, reinforce and underpin the ground beneath the support abutments” so that the bridge can reopen to traffic. The project is anticipated to take approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting.

10/4/21: River Road is now open from Rt. 532 to Taylorsville Road.

The Township team has been working with PennDOT to coordinate the repairs and reopen this section of roadway since it was damaged when the remnants of Hurricane Ida moved through our area.

The bridge near Lookout Park remains closed. We are continuing our efforts to work with PennDOT to get those repairs scheduled and re-open this section of River Road. For your safety and the safety of others, please do not remove the barricades.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
