Deer Management Program

July 10th, 2017

To help manage the deer population, the Township has renewed its agreement with Big Oak Whitetail Management (BOWMA) for the 2017/18 season. This agreement permits access to public properties by BOWMA hunters, who are interviewed and tested by BOWMA and must submit criminal background checks to the Township.  BOWMA does not charge the Township for the deer management services and donates a portion of their harvest to local food pantries. BOWMA hunters can be identified by a Township-issued ID card and dashboard placard.

Private property owners can also participate in a deer management program by contacting BOWMA via their website, www.bigoakwhitetail.org.   There you will find more details about the association, the services they can provide and hunter requirements.
