Upper Makefield Township is a community located along the Delaware River in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Upper Makefield Township is governed  by an elected 5-member Board of  Supervisors. Township services are organized by departments, such as Administration, Planning & Zoning, Police and Public Works. The staff also works with volunteer boards and commissions that initiate and review proposals to further improve the quality of life in Upper Makefield Township.

The Board of Supervisors work with staff to enforce and update the Township Code as laws change locally and on a state and federal level.

Upper Makefield’s elected tax collector is responsible for collecting real estate taxes that also include Bucks County and Council Rock School District taxes. The Earned Income Tax is collected by Keystone Collections Group.

Independent auditors provide oversight to Township financial activities and issue an annual report. Residents also elect three auditors who serve six year terms. Elected auditors meet annually on the day following the reorganization of the Board of Supervisors in accordance with the Second Class Township Code.
